Ubuntu gets 10/10 on my Dell XPS M1330n laptop. Works perfectly. My Dell XPS 720 on the other hand is a different storey. A weird bug that's been around since at least Feisty Fawn leaves me with no xserver after installing the Nvidia drivers.

To make matters worse the new version of the xserver doesn't assume a default video card if you have more than one video card. Which produces the same symptoms.

As you would expect with a Dell XPS 720 I have an SLI video setup. Which means I've just spent the last week chasing my tail thinking my wonky graphics were purely down to my SLI set up.

A little deeper investigation suggests the weird bug I talked about earlier can be cause by errors in the partition table amongst many many many other things.

As I have moved partitions around for ummm ... geeky experimenting purposes ... I'm thinking I now need to repartition my hard drive.

Ubuntu 8.10 is not perfect. Which is why 9.04 is well underway.

The slightly hyped BBC content was a bit of a let down. I was hoping for iPlayer type TV programming. Instead what we get is BBC podcasts. The YouTube content is good though. You can search for anything you like from YouTube without going into a web browser. That's pretty cool.

Actually, some of the reviews said that 8.10 was _not_ ready to roll out. Those reviews looked at specific 8.10 upgrades and noted that not all of the bugs had been swatted.

Dill: Your comment earns a 10 in my book. We strive to make sure WorksWithU doesn't "hype" Ubuntu. Rather, we want to report real-world information to readers. A few readers have pointed to specific posts where we were guilty of hype. We take the feedback seriously.

Has there ever been a review that did not give Ubuntu a 10/10?

Too much of a good thing is not good at all.

I Like my OS with a little bit of dirt.
